Delia T. (Hashem) Abraham, 86, a resident of North Port, Florida, and a former lifelong resident of Lawrence, Massachusetts died on Wednesday, November 11th, 2009 at the Sunset Health and Rehabilitation Center in Venice Florida. Mrs. Abraham was born in Lawrence on January 30, 1923 to Assad and Salime (Bistany) Hashem. She was educated in the Lawrence Public Schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Mrs. Abraham worked as a Planner for Raytheon until her retirement in 1992. She was a longtime Parishioner of St. Anthony Maronite Church in Lawrence, as well as a member of the St. Anthony Ladies Sodality. The wife of the late John Abraham, Mrs. Abraham leaves one brother: Albert Hashem, a retired Lawrence Police Officer of North Port, FL. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Mrs. Abraham is predeceased by her sister: Jamele Bistany of North Port, FL. and her brother Alfred Hashem of Lawrence, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Anthony Maronite Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery in Methuen.
