I have fond memories of Dan- coaching Little League together and taking a group of Cub Scouts, which included our sons, into MGH where Dan explained what an anesthesiologist does and showed us the equipment and devices they use in their work. It was fascinating for the Scouts and for me, too.

I am the dining room hostess at Edgewood and so looked forward to his daily dining with us. He was such a kind man and he shared with me his vacations and so loved his grandchildren and there hand written notes they would send.

My deepest sympathy upon the death of Dan. After Helen, he was my favorite Philbin. He had a joyous spirit and when he was in school one summer he worked in the OR at Milford Hospital.
