Daniel James MacDonald's Obituary
Daniel J. MacDonald, 75, of North Andover, Massachusetts passed away Tuesday, May 20th, 2025 at the Lawrence General Hospital.
He was born on March 5, 1950 in Boston, Massachusetts, son of the late Ronald and Catherine A. (Snow) MacDonald. Daniel grew up in Randolph, Massachusetts and attended Saint Mary's Church. He received his Master Degree, and worked for various places. He was a sports writer for the Boston Herald, and the Quincy Patriot Ledger. He worked for Egghead Software, Borders Bookstore and most recently REI Sporting Goods in Reading, MA., where he enjoyed working with all of the employees there for the past 16 years. Daniel was an avid Celtics and Red Sox fan and he enjoyed hiking, bicycling, and kayaking. He especially loved the outdoors.
His family members include his sisters Susan J. MacDonald of Cape Coral, FL,
Mary J. Smith and her husband James of Cape Coral, FL,, brother Ronald G. MacDonald and his wife Melinda of Ashford, CT., as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Daniel's Services will be private at the request of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Merrimack Street, North Andover, MA.
