Craig T. Spires' Obituary
Craig T. Spires of East Hampstead, NH and formerly of Andover MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday December 7th, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Claire (Menard) Spires; their Children, Sean Spires and his wife Karen of Chester, VT, and Danielle (Spires) Kulicki and her husband Greg of Sandown, NH. As well as his five adored grandchildren, Julia and Madelyn Spires and Morgan, Chase, and Austin Kulicki.
Craig also leaves behind his sister Kathie Oliver and her husband Bill; his brother Mark Spires and his wife Karen; his sister-in-law Carlene Spires; and his Aunt Mary Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, John J. Spires Sr “Jack” and Katherine E. (Cunningham) “Kay” Spires, and his brother John J. Spires Jr. Craig will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and cousins.
Craig was born in Lynn, MA and spent most of his life in Andover, MA, graduating from Andover High School in 1964. After graduation, Craig Joined the U.S. Army in 1965 and served in the Vietnam War. He left the Army in 1968 and earned an Associates Degree from Northern Essex. His career began at his father’s store, Jack Spires Paint and Wallpaper in Lawrence, MA. Craig was a respected salesman. He spent much of his career in sales selling video surveillance systems with Eastern Video Systems in Billerica, MA. He later become one of the founders of ASI Security. He enjoyed his retirement job at East Cost Lumber in Hampstead, NH.
Craig enjoyed many summers at Sunset Lake Campground in Hampstead, NH. He could often be found sitting around a campfire or cruising around the lake on his boat, this was his happy place. If you wanted to learn to water ski or challenge him to a tubing contest he was always happy to drive the boat.
Craig had many hobbies that he loved whether it was being a ski instructor at King Ridge and then at Mt. Sunapee, or being with his Wednesday night golf league, you could always catch Craig out there having a good time. The beach always brought him such joy it is where he met his wife, Claire, and spent many happy vacations with his family.
Craig’s time with his wife, Claire, and their family was most important to him. He was a devoted husband and father and was always so proud of his children and cherished spending time with his grandchildren. He surrounded himself with good friends and lots of laughter. His sense of humor was one of a kind and will be missed by many.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 12-4 at Zorvino Vineyards 226 Main St. Sandown, NH 03873.
