I remember her as a carefree child who loved life. I also taught Nancy, Billy and Katy. All beautiful children of Claire and Robert. I went to SMH with Colleen. Though we hung in different circles I can still remember her bright smile, big laugh and vibrant personality. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. A beautiful soul gone too soon.

I am stunned with sadness upon hearing of Colleen Honohan’s passing.

Colleen was the enchanting light in the ’70s with her copious humor and unfaltering spirit. As a kid, she was the girl who delivered the daily newspaper, carrying a heavy tote over her shoulder, while I carried my candy for sale for the JCC.

I clearly remember our first meeting in the neighborhood: “Hey you’re one of the Honohans!” I said to her. “Yeah, and you’re one of the Livingstons,” she responded.

Years later, after college, I saw her in the ’90s. Colleen and her sister were friends with my sisters; yet despite my being five years older, I always felt a friendship between us. Even with our busy lives, she and I stayed connected.

Despite the loss of my eyesight seventeen years ago, I remember Colleen quite clearly. She was beautiful, funny, and most of all, she had a stellar spirit and zest for life that even transcended her physical pulchritude. Her versatility — singing and music — were among the many passions that always scintillated through her blue eyes and her exquisite soul. Clearly, she loved life.

Someday, dear Colleen, we will all hold hands together — your partner, friends, and family — in a large circle, cherishing what was. And admiring what is.
