Claire also leaves behind her sister-in law Kathie Oliver and her husband Bill; her brother-in-law Mark Spires and his wife Karen; her sister-in-law Carlene Spires; and her Aunt Nancy Cote. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Craig T. Spires and her parents, John J. Menard and Alice (Cote) Menard, and her brother-in law John J. Spires Jr. Claire will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Claire was born in Lawrence, MA and spent all of her childhood living in North Andover, MA. She attended St. Michael’s grammar school and then graduated from North Andover High School in 1966. After marrying Craig, they raised their two children in Andover, MA. They always loved New Hampshire and moved to Hampstead in 2003. After losing her husband, Craig, she moved to Sandown with her daughter Danielle and family. She was so excited to be building an in-law apartment with her family right next door.
Claire started her professional career at Raytheon Technologies in Andover MA. She then took some time off to raise her family as a stay at home mom. Claire then worked mother’s hours at Thompson’s on Main Street in Andover, MA. She then worked at Getronics in Tewksbury, MA. Her most beloved job was working at Walgreens for more than 20 years in East Hampstead, NH. She loved seeing all her friends and customers who came in to the store everyday. Claire had made lifelong friendships with her coworkers and customers.
Claire enjoyed many summers at Sunset Lake Campground in Hampstead, NH. She could be found reading a book, or playing Canasta or 45’s with family and friends.
The beach was always a happy place for Claire. It is where she met her husband, Craig, and spent many happy vacations with her family. Claire’s time with her husband, Craig, and their family was most important to her. She was a devoted wife and mother and was always so proud of her children and cherished spending time with her grandchildren. Whenever a customer or friend asked how she was, she would always have a story about her grandchildren and how proud she was of all of them.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life on Saturday, November 22 from 12-4 pm at Zorvino Vineyards 226 Main St. Sandown, NH 03873. https://www.breenfuneralhome.com.
