Claire Hermann's Obituary
Mrs. Hermann. Auntie Claire. Amoo. No matter how you knew her, after you knew her, you never forgot--the kind of person who's name alone put smiles on the faces of those whose lives she touched. And there were so many. Having survived her husband, the former State Representative Joseph N. Hermann, Claire lived until the age of 91. But there are more meaningful numbers than the number of years since September 14th 1925: the thousands of people she made laugh, the hundreds of children she cared for, and the dozens of relatives who knew her as a shining source of light in the family. She was comfortable until the end thanks to Marjorie Cano CNA and left from home. Her daughter, Gail, took care of her in her waning two years with support from Claire's son, Neil and his wife Barbara. Her grandchildren, Kate Marrese, Meg Hermann and Grady Shea were able to be with her in her last days as well as Meg's children Claire and Army and Kate and Meg's mother Cindy.
Claire is predeceased by her parents, Cornelius and Mary Kate Bresnahan of Ireland, her brothers, John and Joseph Bresnahan and sister, Anne Sherlock. She is survived by her sister--the wonderful Peggie Keene--and many nieces and nephews.
Since you never had the chance to get the last word in with her before, Miss Glamour '43 will be available at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 35 Merrimack St. North Andover MA 01845, from 5-8pm on Tuesday the 18th. Her mass will be held the following day at St.Michael's Church, 196 Main St, at 11:30. Her Mercy Meal and Burial will follow. In leiu of flowers, please donate to the Joseph N. Hermann Youth Center, 33 Johnson Street, North Andover, MA 01845.
