Charles J. Machado's Obituary
Charles J. Machado, 73, of North Andover, passed away at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury after a brief illness. Born in Lawrence, MA to James and Mary Grimley Machado he had a brother James. Charlie had a wonderful sense of humor that made everyone laugh and he befriended everyone he met. Before illness forced his retirement he was employed by Loren Products and New York Toy and Game located in Lawrence. In the late 70’s and early 80’s he operated a disc jockey business playing at many functions and dances with his wife as CJ the DJ and Mary Mac. He loved seeing people happy and having a good time. Charlie could be found holding court and scratching lottery tickets at the Donut Shack most mornings in Lowell with his friends.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Mary (Leyland) a Nieces, Jean Ann Novak and Whitney R. Leyland Nephews James E. Machado Jr. and Edward J. Leyland III both of New Hampshire, his Sister-In-Law, Janice (Broadhurst) Leyland along with several cousins and countless friends. A special thank you to Ed & Debbie Gabriel who always befriended him and Lynn Herron who was a dear friend and kind, compassionate caregiver for the past few years.
Charlie was a 100% Disabled Veteran who served his Country in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany.

His funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021 in St. Michael’s Church, No. Andover, MA. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence, MA.
