Charles F. Haggerty's Obituary
Charles (Charlie) F. Haggerty, 78, of Andover, MA and Pelham, NH passed away December 31, 2024, after a courageous battle with mesothelioma. Charlie was born July 30, 1946, at Clover Hill Hospital Lawrence, Massachusetts to Clara (Reininger) Haggerty, and John C. Haggerty. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1964. Charlie began his career in 1965, at the age of 18 as a PipeFitter apprentice and retired at the age of 59. He was a member of the PipeFitters Union for over 40 years. Charlie was a member of Local 283 of Lawrence, MA, Local 138 of Salem, MA, as well as Local 537 of Boston, Ma. He served as a foreman on many job sites. Amongst the facilities he worked at are Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant, MIT, Lincoln Labs, Western Electric, Salem Coal Fired Power Plant, Raytheon, and Trash to Energy Power Plants. The last 20 plus years of his career was spent working at Francis H. Maroney Mechanical Engineers of Haverhill, MA.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart of forty years, Marjorie E. (Boddy) Haggerty, two daughters, Kimberly L. Haggerty and partner James Younker, Nicole M. (Haggerty) Mascaro and son-in-law, Joseph Mascaro, sister-in-law Jane L. (Boddy) Hart, and brother-in-law, Atty. Charles D. Boddy, Jr. He is predeceased by his brother, John (Jack) Haggerty, and their parents.
Charlie enjoyed 40 years of outdoor activities at Little Island Pond, Pelham NH and North Conway, NH. He loved cooking, golf, skiing, snowmobiling and attending car shows. He will be missed by his family, friends, and their dog, Callie, who was a dedicated companion who took great joy in being at his side.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 11:30 A.M. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Cemetery, also in Lawrence, MA.
