We just learned of Chuck's passing . . . we were blessed to have spent 4 vacations with Chuck at the Seascape . . . he was a kind and gentile person . . . a gracious host . . . we last saw him in September 2014 in P'town . . . we'd meet up with him every day on one of the benches outside city hall . . . he enjoyed people watching form his bench . . . we know his family will miss him as we do . . . we will never forget Chuck . . .

Late 1970's a cold and wet summers night. My tent was soaking wet and we had not a dry thing to our name; So in the car we went from Nickerson State park up route 6 then 6a and a low wattage bulb with a sign that said vacancy appeared. That began a 30 something year mecca-pilgrimage to "Chuck's Place". "If you need to do a wash just bring your wet stuff in,,,,the dryer is almost done." I brought more kids to this spot than you could imagine. But the biggest kid of all was me. Thank you Chuck for being the worlds best Inn Keeper and friend. We have only just found out about Chuck's death, and are heart broken. We loved Chuck, and have many fond memories from the 16 years that we went to The Seascape. We became close over the years, and feel badly we are only now finding out. We actually just returned from The Cape, and when I tried to contact Chuck and could not get him I had a bad feeling. I just spoke with him in July. Anyway, we got a beautiful postcard of Long Nook while we were in P-Town to send him.....maybe we will leave it at his grave. Chuck was a good man, and a good friend. If you were lucky enough to have him as your friend, then you were lucky enough.... Our deepest condolences to all who loved Chuck. He will be sorely missed. Sincere condolences to the Nyhan family. We will remember Chuck in his glory at Longnook Beach on Cape Cod. His wry sense of humor made us look forward to his appearances. He will be missed greatly.

Dear Sheila and the rest of Nyhan Family, I will miss Chuck very much. He was a big presence in my life, first as my employer then as a long-term friend. He had a big heart and helped many people out along the way -- I was one of them. Something that stands out for me is when my dear late mother was in Intensive Care during the whole 9/11 World Trade Center disaster. She was there for quite a while, all the while I was felt bombarded with the 9/11 coverage and constant dialogue--it was getting in the way of my being present with my mom. Chuck kindly asked me to come down to Truro to replenish my strength and to ready myself for the imminent passing of my mother. Such a gift. Chuck was such a gift in so many ways. Unfortunately I am unable to make the wake and funeral but Chuck and all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. I spend many good times with Chuck but also shared some of his rough times. He suffered much these last few years and now he is Peace. With Love, Ed Crane

The last time that I saw Chuck was nearly 60 years ago, as a classmate at St Patrick Grammar School. Chuck was always smiling, affable, and very friendly. And I knew he came from a very nice family - he lived near my Aunt Ann Cox. Over the years our paths never crossed but I will always have fond memories of Chuck. May he rest in peace!

I am deeply saddened by news of Chuck's passing. We were friends some 40 years ago and lost track of each other. Chuck and I spent many good times at St Pat's CYO and Chi Ro as well as at Central Catholic and Merrimack. I visited his family home many times and fondly remember his Mom and Dad and brothers and sisters. My parents thought the world of Chuck. My deepest condolences to Chuck's family, he was a good guy and he will be sorely missed by all.
