Mrs. Catherine F. (Corrigan) Menzie, 79, of North Andover, formerly of Westford and Andover, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Edgewood Retirement Community in North Andover. She was born on January 1, 1937 in Lawrence to the late Bernard and Josephine (Fortune) Corrigan. Catherine was a graduate of St. Mary?s High School and University of Lowell, class of 1958. Known to all her friends as Kay, she was an elementary school teacher for many years before leaving to raise her family, which was her lifetime passion and brought her endless joy. Later on she was a librarian for New England Nuclear (NEN) and DuPont Merck. She was a parishioner of Saint Michael?s Church in North Andover, MA and an active member of LAOH, Division 8. Catherine enjoyed playing golf, reading and traveling with her close friends Janice Gosselin, Gerry Belanger and Elizabeth Connolly, and especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, sister and brothers. Catherine always put others before herself. She will be deeply missed by her family, including her daughters Elizabeth Calder of Cambridge, MA, and Kathleen Gailes and her husband Joel of Westford, MA, her sons Michael Menzie and his wife Kathleen of Reading, MA, and Timothy Menzie and his wife Lynne of North Reading, MA. Catherine had 10 grandchildren; Kaitlin, Joseph, Ryan, and Henry of Reading, MA, Kelly and Christopher of Cambridge, MA, Nathan and Brandon of Westford, MA, Matthew and Lauren of North Reading, MA. She is also survived by her sister Joan Taylor of Williamstown, MA, her brothers Thomas Corrigan and his wife Nancy of Lawrence, MA and Richard Corrigan and his wife Donna of North Andover, MA, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Catherine was predeceased by her loving husband Jack of 51 years. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Merrimack Street, North Andover, MA.
