Hope
every day after school my mom would drive me to Brightview (where she lived). We would never tell her so it could be a awesome surprise and we would walk in and she would always be making her coffee and she would see us and say "Hello my hopey baby i missed you" in her flemish accent. After that we would have cookies and watch cartoons. After that we would go to her table/vanity by her window overlooking the highway. we would put on her "fancy makeup" and she put on lipstick for me. We would go downstairs after that, to "The Pub" where we would get cranberry juice and sun chips and there would often be live music. The day she passed was the worst day ever and i will never forget it. The whole family was sitting in the front yard at our beach house in Wells Maine when we heard the news. After about 10 minutes of crying we saw a bald eagle on the rocks. Ever since that day we have thought of that bald eagle as her spirit animal, and every year on her birthday, we see the bald eagle.
