Bernard J. Duggan's Obituary
Bernard J. Duggan, 93, a resident of Methuen, MA, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 t the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA.
The son of the late Bernard and Jeannette (Chagnon) Duggan, Bernard was a graduate of St. Rita’s Grammar School, St. Mary’s Middle School and Central Catholic High School. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II serving on a Destroyer. Bernard started work in the Wood Mill at a young age and then went on to work at Raytheon for over 40 years as an X-Ray Technician. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Merrimack Golf Course for 40 years. Bernard was an avid Boston sports fan and being an athlete, he was a very strong swimmer. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and friend.
The widower of Sandy (Strano) Duggan, members of Bernard’s family include his stepchildren: Joseph M. Squadrito and his wife Rita of Ft. Wayne IN, Joseph Fallon and his wife Gloria of Manchester, NH, and Maria Fredriksen of the Villages, FL, his sister Joan Duggan of Lawrence, MA, grandchildren: Joel, Lea M. and Jay Squadrito as well as Nicholas B. Guess and great grandchildren: Joseph and Andrew Squadrito and Benjamin Guess. Bernard is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and was predeceased by his sister Constance Duggan.
