Barbara L. Roche's Obituary
Barbara L. Roche, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Whitney Place Assisted Living facility in Natick, MA.
Barbara was born in Haverhill, MA, where she grew up with her five siblings, enjoying the simple pleasures of life, including the time spent at the beach. In her early years, she married the love of her life, David Roche, and together they built a home in North Andover, where Barbara would live for most of her life.
Barbara was a woman of deep independence and vitality. She had a passion for the outdoors, whether it was taking long walks, tending to her beloved yard, or traveling to new places. A natural caretaker of her home, she found joy in its upkeep and found purpose in teaching dance, a hobby she cherished. Above all, Barbara was an affectionate communicator, known for her handwritten notes that kept her family connected and for the close bonds she formed with her neighbors.
Barbara will be forever remembered for her warm spirit, her love of life, and her devotion to family. She leaves behind her sister, Arlene Hamel, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loved ones. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, David, and her siblings: Herbert Hamel, Shirley (Harold) Wyman, Richard (Adele) Hamel, and Donald (Joan) Hamel.
A beloved sister, aunt, and friend, Barbara will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
