Barbara C. (Grealish) Flanagan's Obituary
Barbara C. (Grealish) Flanagan, 63, a resident of Methuen, MA and a summer resident of Charlotte, ME, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. Born in Methuen, Barbara was educated in the Methuen Schools and was a graduate of Tenney High School. She went on to attend Lowell University and Framingham State. Barbara then Graduated from Northern Essex Community College with an Associate?s Degree and Rivier College in Nashua, NH with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Barbara was quite the young lady and was too young to leave us all. Barbara loved horses, and the last one that she had was Misty who lived to be 38 years old. Barbara had worked as a Consultant Manager at Pleasant View Nursery which was located between Routes 113 and 213 in Methuen. She had also been offered to be the Massachusetts State Head of Food Inspection Services and Nursing Facilities, as well as Head for the elderly and disabled. Barbara cared for her parents for some 15 years after they both became ill. Barbara was the daughter of the late Edward Sr. and Laura (Carter) Grealish. She is survived by Her husband Gerald T. Flanagan, sisters: Laurie Schleyhahm of Springfield, IL, and Margaret Borrelli of Lawrence, MA, brothers: Arthur Abbott of Missouri as well as Edward Grealish and William Grealish both of New Hampshire. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Chrissy Abbott Marks and her husband John as well as their 3 children from Missouri and Gregory Teubner of Texas. Barbara was also sister to the late Joyce Teubner, Caroline McNaulty, Robert Abbott and Frank Abbott. Funeral services and burial are private. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara?s name to the St. Jude?s Children?s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
