Barbara L. Bevin's Obituary
Barbara L. Bevin, age 77 of North Andover, MA and Alton, NH, passed away in her Alton Bay home on June 14, 2017.
Barbara was born Barbara Singer, on November 16, 1940 in Lowell, MA. Raised in North Reading, she graduated from North Reading High School. Later, she married the love of her life, Ralph Bevin. Together, they raised three lovely daughters. She was proud to have earned her certificate in early childhood education from Northern Essex, and spent several years teaching kindergarten at Mother Goose in Andover. She also served several years in transcription at the IRS facility in Andover, and nearly a decade in work she couldn’t speak of, at Raytheon of Bedford.
She loved her family. Her years after retirement were spent caring for her husband, daughters, and grandchildren. She enjoyed vacationing in Florida with her sister, Edie, and spending her summers on Lake Winnipesaukee. As a member of the American-Canadian Genealogical Society, she toured New England and Canada researching the family lineage. A lover of animals, she had many dogs and several cats, over the years. She was fascinated with the birds and other wildlife that surrounded her summer home. She loved researching them all, and sharing her findings with family.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Bevin, and sister, Edith Foran. She is preceded by her other siblings, Jean Cannuel, Jeanet Brooks, Charles Singer, and Doris Russel. She is also survived by her daughters Cheryl Perron, Leeann Shelton, and Barbara Dexter, her eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is missed by all.
A service and burial will be held at Ridgewood Cemetery on Salem St. in North Andover, on Thursday, June 22nd, at 11:00 am. Arrangements are under the direction of the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., North Andover and Lawrence, Massachusetts. www.breenfuneralhome.com.
