Augusto J. Pavao's Obituary
Augusto J. Pavao, 86, a resident of North Andover, MA, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the Lawrence General Hospital.
The son of the late Jose Augusto Pavao and Mariana (dos Reis) Pavao as well as stepson to the late Virginia (Cabral) Pavao, Augusto was born in St. Michael Azores in Portugal. He was educated in Portugal and served in the Military with the Forestry Services Division while living there. Augusto came to the United States in 1971. He worked as a carpenter and builder for various contractors when he came to the states. Augusto was a jack of all trades. His hobbies included fishing, carpentry, and fixing cars, but his big hobby was his children and grandchildren.
Members of Augusto’s family include his wife of 57 years: Gilda M. Pavao, his son Paul Pavao and his wife Aline of Middleton, MA, his daughter Sandra Sipsey and her husband Bill of North Andover, MA. his brother Constantino Pavao of Canada, and his sister Silvana Silva of Westford, MA. Augusto is also survived by his three grandchildren: Zac Pavao, Julia Pavao and William Sipsey as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 11:30 A.M. in St. Michael’s Church, 196 Main St., North Andover, MA. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery, 177 Salem St., also in North Andover. Relatives and friends are invited to call prior to the funeral on Thursday morning from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Merrimack St., North Andover.
