Armand this is Luz Romero. We need of the children from the Lawrence Community works. I remember when Jessica would take us over to your house and enjoy time with you and your family. The times we all went to the beach and I had my first bite from a biting fly, the first time you and your family took us to see a basketball game. All of those were beautiful memories I carry with me to this day. Your son Peter I remember he was the first boy I ever had a crush on and I would gush about him many times. Nothing will ever replace the memories of you and your family from my heart. Rest easy pops! Love you from the bottom of my heart!

Armand M. Hyatt was an honest, caring and empathetic person, all that had the pleasure of knowing and working with him knew this to be true! I had the pleasure of working for HYATT & HYATT for several years before relocating with my family to the Southcoast. I am just learning of his passing and this news brings immense sadness! How sad I was when I heard of Armands passing. We were friends from many years ago, and though I knew he was ill, it still feels like a shock. I knew he was an outstanding human being but had no idea as to the legacy that he has left. My deepest condolences to the family. The world has lost a gem..RIP

So many years ago Armand saw the zeal with which my son Dean sang for the Lord. Armand invited him up front to help the Team. In time Armand gave Dean his multi-colored scarf which Dean sooooo treasures. Armand saw Dean, knew that he was equal to him before Christ, and did what Armand did naturally...he invited him in. God bless Armand...We pray that he now rests in God's loving embrace. -Fred Marion

Armand and I grew up three houses from each other. He was always a great friend, optimist and leader. Armand was my attorney and trusted at for decades. He was a special person. To the Hyatt family my condolences for a friend and great man who will be sadly missed.

Sending love to the entire Hyatt family and all who were lucky to be in Armand's orbit. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. We crossed paths for several years at LCW during my time in Lawrence and I will be forever grateful for his mentorship, friendship, and the leadership he demonstrated in such a kind & generous way. I am so grateful to have been part of the same extended family as Armand Hyatt. He was a beacon of thoughtfulness and kindness and poetry and song and devotion to community. From talking to Armand about nonprofit work and community building to creative writing to shooting hoops, he was a person I have been delighted to know and share moments with.

Armand shared some of his poetry with me years ago, and a part of one read:

“I see the vibrant Sea
and know the whole
that vibrancy is all a-flow
in sands and all lands
—and in my hands—
and deeply within my soul.”

He so admirably and fiercely cared for this world, its places and people and plants and animals in it. The love he felt flowing through himself and the world around him is here to stay. What a legacy. Love you Armand.
