Alice Claire (Solomon) Ramey's Obituary
Alice Claire (Solomon) Ramey, 92, passed to our Lord on Thursday, June 10,2021 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH.
Despite many obstacles this past year, Alice was constantly surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and embraced by friends and family both in person and through prayer.
Alice was born in Lawrence, MA on January 1, 1929 to Bashara and Rapha Solomon, where she was raised on their family farm as the youngest of 16 siblings. Alice graduated from Lawrence High School in 1946, and in 1950, was married to her loving husband of 69 years, Deacon Allan A. Ramey. Together they raised their family of four children in South Lawrence.
Alice and Deacon Allan played an unmatched role at St. Anthony's Church in Lawrence. Among her ministries, Alice served as CCD teacher, choir director and Pre Cana mentor for Parish couples.
Alice was a leader and played an integral role in the “The Community of God’s Light” prayer group, teaching the Life in the Spirit seminars. She was equally active in her local community. Every spare moment of her full life was spent with her family and larger extended family of parents, in-laws, siblings, nieces and nephews. In 2010 Alice and Allan moved to Epping, NH, where they continued to embrace and enjoy their growing family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Alice was filled with the Holy Spirit. This was evident in her wisdom and understanding, gentleness, kindness, and charity. She had the boundless ability to love and forgive others. Alice courageously fulfilled her duties as daughter, sister, mother, grandmother (great grandmother) and Deacon’s wife with a joyful heart overflowing with love for God and others. Besides her endless love, wonderful sense of humor, and delightful spice, Alice gave her family the most beautiful example of a mother’s care, love and guidance, second only to her (and our) most cherished Blessed Mother Mary. Alice is predeceased by her beloved husband and eternal partner, Deacon Allan A. Ramey. They are survived by their four children — Dr. Allan A. Ramey Jr. and his late wife Marita and late daughter Jessica, Mary Anne Alliegro and her husband Mark, Donna Meade and her husband Robert, Paul Ramey and his wife Anne, brother-in-law Leonard Ramey and his wife Evelyn, 16 additional grandchildren and many great grandchildren as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 15,2021 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at St Anthony’s Maronite Church, 145 Amesbury St., Lawrence, Ma. 01841.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30. Burial will be at St Anthony’s Cemetery Methuen, Ma.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Anthony’s Maronite Church, 145 Amesbury St.,
