Albert James Boutin's Obituary
Albert James Boutin, 79, of Fremont, NH, passed away on December 27th, 2022 at the High Pointe House in Haverhill.
He was born on December 25th, 1943, "Named Baby of the Week", in Lawrence, son of the late Leo J., Sr. and Josephine (Khoury) Boutin.
Al was a graduate of Lawrence High School in 1961, he attended Maine Central, Salem State College and Northern Essex Community College, receiving a Fire Science Degree. He was a parishioner of Saint Mary's Church in Lawrence. And served in the United States Army serving in Pirmasens, Germany.
He worked as a Land Surveyor in the Merrimack Valley and later was a Lawrence Fire Fighter for 20 plus years, he was a member of the Firefighters Union, the Reliefs In. and Hampstead Health.
Al was 10 years old on a Championship Basketball Team (Bruce School) that played in the Boston Garden, Boston, MA.
While a student at Lawrence High School played football, baseball, and was the captain of the bowling team (Candle Pins) with a 117 average. He was a halfback, linebacker, punter, receiver on the football team. He was in the 1960 football game between Central Catholic and LHS, Al ran back an 85 yard touchdown on LHS first offensive possession and LHS went on to win, Al was the MVP.
At graduation Al received the Prestigious Cregg Medal for being the outstanding student and athlete.
His family members include his wife Betty (Bruner) Boutin, Brother Leo J. Boutin, Jr., Sisters Terry Cotter and Barbara Cummings, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will take place on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA.
