Adel Najjar's Obituary
Adel Najjar, 92, of Lawrence passed away peacefully on October 9, 2017 in her sleep at the Sutton Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness.
Adel Najjar was born in Zahle, Lebanon and emigrated to the United States in 1976. She was the daughter of Najib and Jamile Dahrouj. At the age of 18, she married Samuel Najjar and they had eight children. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was loved by her family. She was selfless and caring, a devoted Catholic who always placed others needs before her own. She will be deeply missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known her.
She is survived by five of her beloved children: her son Simon and his wife (Rosemary) of Salem, MA, her daughter Marie (wife of the late George Haddad) of Lawrence, her son Elie and his wife (Debra) of North Andover, her son Maurice and his wife (Sheila) of Methuen, and her son Joseph and his wife (Molly) of Methuen. She was the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her brothers Jamil and Elie in Zahle Lebanon. She was pre-deceased by her husband Samuel Najjar in 1997.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday October 12, 2017 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. in St. Anthony Maronite Church, 145 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
