Dear Kathy, I was so shocked to hear of Steve's untimely passing. I saw him only a few weeks ago, looking very healthy. It is just so unfair. Steve was a marvelous scientist. From the High Resolution Imager on Einstein to the Astrophysics Data System, his accomplishments stand tall. And yet he was so modest in his demeanor, accepting and respecting everyone.
