John Andrew Camasso

Mr. John Andrew Camasso, 81, a resident of North Andover, MA passed away on Saturday, February 9th, 2008 at the Lawrence, General Hospital. He was born on May 14th, 1926, in Lawrence, MA to the late Alexander Camasso and Rose (Izzo-Camasso) Maciariello. Mr. Camasso attended Lawrence Schools and Corpus Christi Parish, Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence, MA. As a young adult, John served in the United State Navy on the USS Opollo as a Coxswain during WWII. Fresh out of the Navy and full of ambition, Mr. Camasso set off to build a future. John opened Madison Hill Upholstery and Decorating Company in Lawrence, MA providing top quality furniture craftsmanship for almost 40 years. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. John was well-known for his generous spirit, friendly disposition and warm nature by all those who knew him. For those of us blessed with loving and having been loved by him, our life-long memories will be cherished forever. John was very well loved and adored by his entire family; often at the center of family gatherings telling stories of the good old days, his life experiences, sharing jokes and spreading his love and good humor. He was an avid fisherman and golfer for many years, and was often found enjoying some leisure-time playing poker and cheering for the New York Yankees. John?s family members include: His son; John Camasso and wife Michelle, grandchildren Britney, Nicholas and Michael of Bristol, CT. His daughter; Judith Camasso of Southington, CT. His brothers; Anthony Camasso and wife Christine of Lawrence, MA; Charles Camasso and wife Jeanne of Derry, NH. His nieces and nephews; Donna, David, Mark and wife Judy, Christopher and wife Amy and Peter Camasso, Karen Leonard, Brenda and Bobby Lavalle and Rosie Owens. John is survived by his life-long companion, Jane S. Carroll and their family: Mary Jane Breen of Salem, NH; children Andrea Judge, Eric Judge and Zachary Breen; and grandchild Anya Rose Judge. John and Ann Marie Carroll of Cape Coral, FL Michael J. Carroll and Maribel Andujar of Salem, NH; children Mitchell, Arnold and MariCarmen; grandchild Nayhlie. Laurence and Suzanne Carroll of Bourne, MA; children Marc and Kyle Carroll. Charmian Bodenrader of Haverhill, MA; children James and Manda Bodenrader, Jennifer Bodenrader, and Julie and Charles Grandmaison; grandchildren Marissa, Emily and James Bodenrader; William Melchionda; and Jacob, Jalyn and Cailey Grandmaison. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon . Immediately following, his funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 beginning at 12:00 Noon at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St, Lawrence, MA.
