James Glen Moore

James Glen Moore, 73, of Salem, NH and Punta Gorda, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA. Glen was born in Lawrence on October 8, 1937. Glen was the son of the late James Moore and Elizabeth Valentine Low. Raised in Andover, and a graduate of Punchard High School in 1955, Glen later enlisted and proudly served in the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command. His professional career included 17 years at Reichhold Chemical and retired after 25 years of service at Polaroid Corporation during which time he earned an Associates Degree from New Hampshire College and attended Northwest Technical Institute Following his retirement, Glen enjoyed winters in Florida and summers in New Hampshire where he spent considerable time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Although his retirement was cut short due to his lengthy battle with Alzheimer's, Glen practiced his golf game, loved his bowling league and was a member of the Punta Gorda Elks Lodge 2606. A devoted husband and father, he leaves his beloved wife of 51 years, Geraldine Murphy Moore of Salem, NH; five daughters, Kathleen Susan (deceased), Kelley Jean and her husband Claude J. Dupuis II of Derry, NH; Pamela M. and her husband Brian Gori of South Berwick, Maine; Linda M. and her husband Robert P. Campbell of Methuen, MA; Geraldine M. Vaughn of North Andover; twelve grandchildren; three-great grandchildren; a sister, Louise M. Batchelder of St. Johnsbury, VT, and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral mass that will be celebrated on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, St. Augustine Chapel, 128 Ames Street, Lawrence, MA, 01841.
