Farewell Brother Ernie. I'll always remember how you encouraged my poetry writing. I'll also remember, fondly, how you took advantage of my youthful lack of knowledge telling me that your nickname as a high school basketball player was "Doc Beland," me being unaware of "Doctor J." Senior year English class, 1969 - 1970, was always something to look forward to and entertaining as well as highly educational. Master English teacher and friend of God and St. Mary, and youth. Well done good and faithful servant.
